ANNUAL ELK CO. RACE CAR SHOW - SUN.
APRIL 3RD
ST.
MARYS, PA - The Elk Co. Humane Society and the St. Marys Tractor
Supply Company are pleased to announce that the 9th Annual Elk
Co. Race Car show will be held on Sun. April 3rd at the Tractor
Supply Company on the Million Dollar Highway (Rt. 255) in St.
Marys, PA. Race teams from throughout the area will be displaying
their racecars starting at 11:00am through 2:00pm. Rain date
for the event is Saturday April 9th. In the event of inclement
weather, please contact one of the numbers below to confirm
use of the rain date.
For the seventh year in a row, the show is also a fundraiser
for the Elk Co. Humane Society. Raffles, a Bake Sale and used
Book Fair are planned with all proceeds going to the Society.
Also, the Society will be selling hot dogs starting at 11:00am,
donated by Tractor Supply. Representatives of the Humane Society
will also be on hand with information about their shelter and
the pets they currently have up for adoption. They also plan
to have an Adoption Fair at the show with several adoptable
dogs from the shelter at the event.
The Humane Society will also be kicking off its 2011 "Give
A Dog A Bone" Fundraiser at the car show. Representatives
will be selling the paper dog bones for a $1 donation. Donors
can put their names on the bone and they will be displayed at
the shelter during the Fundraiser's duration. In addition, for
each "bone" purchased at the show, the donor gets
one vote for their favorite racecar in the show. The car receiving
the most votes during the show will be presented with a trophy
and special door prizes.
This
is the second year in a row that the show will be held at Tractor
Supply Company and store manager Tom Nellis is excited to have
the opportunity to host again at his store. The local Tractor
Supply Company has been a tremendous partner to the Elk County
Humane Society, hosting several fundraising, adoption and promotional
events for the Society over the past year.
At the conclusion of the show, trophies will be presented including
Best of Division Awards for Late Models, Go-Karts, Street Stocks,
Pure Stocks, 4-Cylinders, Chargers, and Modifieds. In addition,
the Best of Show Award trophy will be presented. Door prizes
will also be handed out to all of the participating race teams.
